The "20-39" specialized summits of the 39th edition of Tehran International Short Film Festival will be held in Tehran, attended by a number of prominent Iranian and international filmmakers as lecturers, sharing their experiences and insight with artists and film lovers.
The agenda for these summits is as follows:
"Creativity in Genre" with Dr. Ahmad Alasti "Lighting and Cinematography" with Mahmoud Kalari "Experimentalism in Genre" with Rasul Sadr Ameli "Interviewing the Acting Coach" with Reza Kianian "Directing" with Ahmad Reza Darwish "Screenplay" with Behrooz Afkhami Moreover, in other segments and categories of these summits, we'll have Dr. Ramtin Shahbazi with "Genre in Short Films (Restriction or Release), Dr. Majid Sheikh Ansari with "Genre, Form, Style; Similarities and Differences", Mohammad Reza Mesbah with "Preparation and Production", Maryam Esmikhani and Kazem Daneshi with "Reviewing Samples of Genre Short Films", Amir Reza Motamedi with "Visual Effects", Soheil Danesh Eshraghi with "Production Design", and Pouyan Sedghi with "Distribution and Release".
The foreign guests attending these events are Ben Thompson, the planning manager of Tribeca International Film Festival, along with Tom Paulmann, a founding member of Sweden's Umeå festival as well as a curator and producer who will virtually attend the "20-39" specialized summits, sharing their wisdom with the participants.
Thompson will act as the lecturer for "The Story of Genre Film Festivals" and Paulmann for "Joint Production of Genre Films".
Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) is one of the most prominent and prestigious short film events all across the world and is Oscar-qualified; the 39th round of this festival presided over by Mehdi Azarpendar and held by the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, heralding the motto of "Variety in Genre" with a focus on the subject of genre, consists of two competition categories of national and international cinema. With in-person participation, the festival is slated to screen more than 64 shorts including fiction, documentary, animation, and instrumental films made by directors coming from 32 countries all around the globe, beside 99 short films by Iranian filmmakers all across the country. The jury comprises members from Portugal, Turkey, Lithuania, Romania, and Iran, and the international cinema instructors' summits will be held from October 19-24, 2022 at Mellat Cinema Complex in Tehran.
