We just watched "Be With Me," a documentary short that was sent to us by its director Michael Terrill. "Be With Me" is the reflection of the journey the Cairns family took to help their autistic son, J.R., to recovery, something really not considered possible at the time J.R. was diagnosed. It was a wonderful feature; beyond being cleanly edited and intimately filmed, it successfully captured an emotional backdrop not found in every documentary. Through his interviews, Terrill was able to convey the struggles the family and therapists went through for J.R., making their success all the more rewarding. This documentary managed to create both heart break and hope in a short span of time; something that is to applauded for any filmmaker. We are very excited to have "Be With Me" as part of our 5th Annual NYC Indie Film Festival lineup.
It's not too late to make the late deadline. If you have a film that can match "Be With Me," submit it now!
