For more than twenty years, the Nihilist Cultural Foundation has presented the Nihilist International Film Festival. Because of Covid, the last two years of the show have been presented online instead of in person. But we are back. The 2022 Nihilist Film Festival will be held in Los Angeles on December 23 starting 8pm at The Dorie Theater at 6476 Santa Monica Bl. in Hollywood.
The festival includes two hours of short films from around the country and around the world. The films range from troubling to hilarious, from profound to completely silly. Pretty much, something for everyone (except children and clergy).
To make the festival available around the world, we will post the show on vimeo again for the following week (December 24-31).
Festival Director Elisha Shapiro commented, “Since 1999, we have been doing this film festival. And things have changed a lot. More people have access to better technology, and more access to film festival. More people are able to make great art expressing their weird nihilist world view. So we have a great selection this year.”
Nihilist Film Festival director Elisha Shapiro is a Los Angeles-based conceptual artist. He is known for presenting the 1984 Nihilist Olympics and the 1999 Nihilism Expo. He was also the Nihilist Party candidate for Governor in 2006, for President in 1988, and for LA county sheriff in 1992.
