2014 Sebastiane Latino Award nominees

In 2013, Sebastiane Latino becomes the second LGBT award given by Gehitu association in San Sebastian Film Festival. This award tries to promote the LGBT values in the Latin Community. This is born thanks to the close relationship that San Sebastian Film Festival has with Latin America.

The Second Sebastiane Latino Jury chose five films as Sebastiane Latino Award nominees:

Mecha y Ofelia atraviesan una crisis de pareja que estalla con la aparición de una tercera mujer. Mecha le jura a Ofelia que dejará a su amante pero se da cuenta de que no puede; tampoco Ofelia es capaz de dejar a Mecha. Mecha intenta soluciones desesperadas pero todas fracasan, de donde empieza a sospechar que su angustia nada tiene que ver con el amor.

Four stories about love and self-acceptance: An eleven year-old boy, feels attracted to his male cousin. Two college students, start a relationship that gets complicated as one of them refuses to come out. A long lasting male relationship its in serious trouble when one feels attracted to somebody else. An old family man is obsessed with a young male prostitute and tries to raise the money to afford it.

 TATUAGEM (BRASIL) (TATTOO) - Hilton Lacerda

1978. While the military coup that assaulted Brazil in 1964 starts to teeter, we follow a romance involving an 18 years old soldier and the cultural ringleader of an anarchist cabaret. Tattoo depicts the conflicts and reflections of a whole generation observed from a marginal perspective. Through the vantage point of the exception, the film elucidates the norm.

 

 

 

Last year´s winner was Quebranto, by Roberto Fiesco (México).
