The 5th edition of the Venice Production Bridge, will be held during the 77th Venice International Film Festival. It will once again focus in particular on the presentation and exchange of original projects for films and works in progress, so as to foster their development and production.
Needless to say that 2020 has been a very difficult year due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. Our Industry belongs to the ones which have been deeply touched by this disaster and we stand in support with everyone who has been personally affected.
The Venice Production Bridge has been constantly adjusting itself to follow the evolution of the industry with the long-term aim of enabling producers and directors to complete their projects. This year it has a special role to contribute to the restart of the cinema and VR worlds.
We are thus particularly proud to highlight some of the projects from our previous editions that have been selected for the 77th Venice International Film Festival, Quo Vadis, Aida by Jasmila Zbanic (Venezia 77), La Nuit De Rois by Philippe Lacôte and Guerra e Pace by Massimo D'Anolfi and Martina Parenti (both Orizzonti), Spaccapietre by Gianluca and Massimiliano De Serio and Saint Narcisse by Bruce LaBruce (both in Giornate Degli Autori).
The Venice Production Bridge will be held as an in-person and onsite event at the Excelsior Hotel, 3rd floor, on the Lido di Venezia, with specific components also taking place digitally. It will therefore preserve its physical event on the Lido, while also offering many possibilities to participate remotely and worldwide.
Selected panels and events that will be take place at the Excelsior Hotel, will be streamed for the first time through the Venice Production Bridge website to guarantee the maximum of possible participation on a global level. Market Screenings of titles from the official selection of the Venice International Film Festival, as well as other titles, will be taking place exclusively online this year, to make them available to the widest possible audience of accredited professionals.
For those unable to attend in-person due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, online participation will as well be possible for the onsite components through streaming and virtual one-to-one meetings. A special online access accreditation is available.
The Venice Production Bridge will therefore continue to provide producers worldwide with a unique possibility of meeting the multiple categories of financiers (distributors, sales agents, banks, private and public investment funds, regions and film commissions, broadcasters, video aggregators and Internet platforms) who are participating in the creation of the necessary financial package to create a film.
The Venice Production Bridge will propose the following events:
The 7th edition of the Venice Gap-Financing Market, will once again be the place where selected European and International projects will be presented to close their financing through one-to-one meetings with international decision-makers.

These projects include 28 Fiction and Documentary features, 12 Virtual Reality Immersive Story projects, plus 12 Virtual Reality and 3 Fiction projects that have been taken part in the Biennale College Cinema workshops.
