CastelloMezzoggiorno"The section", explains the artistic director of the festival Michelangelo Messina, "includes   various cinematographic languages for which it will range from fiction to the cinema of reality, narrated in works of less than 52 minutes duration, unpublished in Italy and shot in recognizable territories (not Studios or internal) of the Campania region or which have Campania's territories as their main location ".

"The Campania Region", Messina continues, "has been supporting the festival for 3 years within the framework of a cinema law that finances the entire audiovisual sector. It therefore seemed right to us, from the first year in which this important measure was established of cultural support, create a section entirely dedicated to the works that enhance our regional territory, promoting those works that are often carried out thanks to these financing measures ".

Among the selected ones there is also the world preview of "Fame" directed by Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo, courtesy of Rai Cinema. "The butterfly corridor", by Andrea Canova and Claudia Brignone, proposes the other face of Scampia. It draws on the memories of the Second World War "The immigrant" by the Italian-British director Sophia Capasso. The story of a humble family of fishermen from Lacco Ameno is at the center of Michele Schiano's short film, "The hands of the soul". Investigates the illegal waste traffic in Campania "The Waste Trade", by Katey Wilson.

Here is the list of works that will be visible on the website www.ischiafilmfestivalonline.it from June 27th.

The eighteenth edition of the Ischia Film Festival will take place in a hybrid version, partly in presence and partly online, from 27 June to 4 July 2020 with the contribution of the MIBACT Directorate General of Cinema and the Campania Region.
